Decene is an alkene with a molecular formula CA10HA20. The prefix "Dec" is derived from the fact that there are 10(ten) carbon atoms in the molecule, while the "-ene" suffix denotes that there is an alkene present—two carbon atoms are connected via a double bond. It is the ninth member of the homologous series of alkenes.
