Matrix addition

In mathematics, matrix addition is adding two matrices together. The matrices must have the same dimension. Entries from the same rows and columns are added to make the result. This is done for all of the entries.

For example:

$\left[\begin{array}{cc}1& 3\\ 1& 0\\ 1& 2\end{array}\right]+\left[\begin{array}{cc}0& 0\\ 7& 5\\ 2& 1\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{cc}1+0& 3+0\\ 1+7& 0+5\\ 1+2& 2+1\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{cc}1& 3\\ 8& 5\\ 3& 3\end{array}\right]$
