In mathematics (particularly in set theory), the continuum refers to either the real numbers, or the cardinality of the set of real numbers (also written as 𝔠).[1][2] Continuum hypothesis is the hypothesis that the cardinality of the continuum is the same as aleph one.[2] It turns out that neither this hypothesis nor its negation contradicts the tenets of set theory itself.[3]
