Aleph

Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet.

Modern uses

• In mathematics, Georg Cantor decided to use alephs to determine the cardinality of infinite sets. These are called aleph numbers, with some of the most notable ones being aleph null (${\mathrm{\aleph }}_0$) and aleph one (${\mathrm{\aleph }}_1$).

Aleph ("a" pronounced as "father") has a mute sound and is represented by the symbol "א".
